    I think their view is that sex is for procreation. AIDS vtmiics shouldn’t breed their disease into their children. If sex is just for having kids, then the married people with AIDS wouldn’t have sex. Also, some people believe that making condoms widely available increases the number of people who have sex, which is true in most cases. Sure, condoms lessen the chance of getting AIDS, but it’s still a risk. So, if condoms make people have MORE sex by making them more comfortable to do it more often and with more people, then condoms would increase the problem of AIDS. I don’t think this is true, but it’s a point of view. He’s not being senile, it’s just part of the whole Roman Catholic thing.
